| Got up this morning and the kids went back to school after Thanksgiving vaction with very little complaining. It was freezing out so I made a nice fire in the fireplace and thought I was going to have a nice day. Boy was I wrong. I took a shower and got ready to run my errands. When I got outside I noticed the van was leaning funny. I check and I have a flat. Unfortunately the tire be bought is already on the van. Daniel had the car so that leaves me with the truck. This isn't a nice truck, this is a really old truck and it had tool boxes that block the back window. I call Daniel he reassures me the truck is easier to drive now that he got the front fixed. I try to start it which is already a hard thing since it takes for every to start and nothing happens. Call Daniel back to find out he forgot to mention that he disconnected the battery because the parking lights won't turn off. After about 5 minutes of struggling with the hood I get it up reconnect the battery and still nothing. I call Daniel back he reassures me he will be home in time for me to pick Julia up from band practise in the afternoon. Around 3 he gets home I take the car to run errands and got everything done with no problems. 5pm Julia calls to pick her up. We decided to go to walmart so I can grab some more stuff for dinner. We go in fight the crowds and get through pretty quick. Get to the car and it's now dead. I check the lights and radio nothing was left on. I call Daniel needless to say he is not happy with all the vehicals turning against me. First mistake he ask me if I remembered to push the clutch in. Not a good thing to ask an upset woman. He says he will try to get the truck started and then hangs up. So at this point I'm trying to decided who I want to kill more him or the truck. Finally break down and call my ex. After all I'm broken down in the parking lot of his work. He says they have a battery powered charger and will come out to jump the car for me. Thankfully he did and it works. Start on my way home and by this time it's getting dark so I turn on the lights. They are really really dim. Then suddenly the car starts stuttering like it's going to die again. I quickly turn off the lights and it's fine. Luckily I'm not far from home and it wasn't completely dark. Now Daniel has the car on the charger since it was to dark to really check it out. I'm vowing not to touch a car until we at least have two running.

| I wish someone would explain to me why boys love frogs so much. Billy has an obsession with them. Ever since Daniel told him that people eat frog legs he hasn't been able to stop talking about it and every frog he finds he ask if they are big enough to eat. Daniel kept telling him that he had to go to a seafood place to get good ones. Well tonight Daniel was working so he skipped church when we got home he asked if we wanted to go to dinner. Of course I liked that idea much better then cooking. Daniel took us to Catfish Palace. I wasn't really paying attention but did notice he pointed to something on the menu and said one of those. The kids were wanting my full attention so I didn't get to ask what it was until they brought a strange looking thing to the table. It looked like a long skinny chicken tender that was bent funny. He said it's for Billy then handed it to him and said here is your frog leg. LOL I thought I would gag. Billy took a bite then shared it with his siblings. Yuck. Of course they harrassed me until I took a tiny bite. Wasn't good. They swore up and down it tasted like chicken. Smelled way to much like a frog to me. I was amazed at how long it was. Anyway here is a pic of Billy with his frog leg. | | |
| Boy summer gets busy sometimes. So far this week we have switched back around having lots of kids and sometimes just a few. Sunday we went to my brother's lake house so Daniel's oldest daughter came over to go and stayed a few nights. Then Julia spent the week working at a local VBS with one of her friends and the boys went with their friend to it. Thurseday Samantha came over to spend the weekend and so Jessika came back so she could spend some time with her sister. Friday Daniel took the to see the new Batman movie. Saturday the twins left for church camp. Then today Sammie went home and Julia went with her to spend a few nights. So until Wednesday I am down to just Billy and Jade. Luckily they are playing nicely making a club house in the girls room. Hopefully they will play this nicely togeathe till Wednesday when the kids come home. | | |
| My landlord hired Daniel to paint and repair the floor next door so the kids "helped" most the day Thursday. Here's some pics. Jori, Billy, Jade and Eddie hiding. They were painting the closet. I was amazed at how much Julia did. She stayed over there and painted almost all day and pretty much painted the whole living room. Julia again | | |
| The kids got back from my mom's house on Monday. Just my luck the A/C goes out. Call the landlord, she gets the A/C tech out and he says we need a new one and will call the landlord. 5 pm still nothing I call the landlord she tells me it will be 2 days before they can put the new one in. Of course I'm not happy with this and ask if she can at least give us some window units. 5 kids in the heat is not fun and Jori was complaining the heat was making her leg braces hurt. Finally she sends over one A/C unit. We cranked it up high as it would go so it cooled off the house a little bit. On the better side we Daniel was helping the neighbor move and they gave him their old basketball hoop so the boys are very happy with that. Today Julia and the boys went over to hang out at Jessie and Dakota's house so Jori, Jade and I headed over to pick up my child support check and Mike was off work so Jade ended up spending the day with him. So me and Jori had a pretty nice afternoon alone. I bought her a kit to make potholders and she loves it. She is even being nice sharing it with her siblings. Thankfully the A/C got replaced today and now Daniel is trying to freeze us out of the house. Also Daniel's oldest has decided to join the Air Force. Daniel loves the idea and is very proud. As a mom I'm scared so I guess between the two of us we have it covered. I'm sure it will be a good thing for him. I just hate the thought of him being so far from home. I will miss not having just show up all the time. Ok that's my update. | | |
